The Association of Surgeons in Training was originally established in 1976 and is the second largest surgical specialty association in the UK with over 2,700 members, from all ten surgical specialties.

The Svensk Kirurgisk Förening (SKF) organizes surgeons working in Sweden or surgeons who have a connection to Swedish surgery. It is a professional organization within the Swedish Society of Medicine and the Swedish Medical Association.

The Society of Academic & Research Surgery (SARS), located at The Royal College of Surgeons of England, has fostered and enhanced research in various disciplines of surgery under its auspices for more than 50 years.

The Swiss Society of Surgery was founded in 1913 as Swiss Society (hereafter SGC) for surgery.

The Sociedad Española de Investigaciones Quirúrgicas (SEIQ) organizes an annual congress in Spain focused on the serious discussion of the presentations and the proper application of the scientific method in the research work.

The Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland was founded in 1920 by a group of leading surgeons of the day.
