Meckel’s diverticulum with a vitellointestinal duct still patent to the inside of the umbilicus formed an internal
hernia opening through which part of the bowel was incarcerated. The incarcerated bowel protruded through the
inguinal hernia. Resection of the Meckel’s diverticulum/vitellointestinal duct and a small piece of ileum was necessary.
