Common carotid artery aneurysm, discovered following a retinal artery embolism. A longitudinal arteriotomy was performed along the anterior wall of the aneurysm and a Pruitt-Inahara shunt placed. Thrombus can be clearly seen in the aneurysm sac. The aneurysm was excised and the defect closed with a Dacron patch.
