A Meckel’s diverticulum is a congenital abnormality of the gastrointestinal tract seen in approximately three per cent of the population. Gastrointestinal stromal tumours in this location are extremely rare. In this case a 54-year-old patient had massive gastrointestinal bleeding which was localized in the small bowel on selective mesenteric angiography. A bleeding tumour was found in a Meckel’s diverticulum. The tumour with a margin of small bowel was resected and shown to be a gastrointestinal stromal tumour on histology.
