A loose peritoneal body, also referred to as a peritoneal mouse. These foreign bodies are usually found incidentally inside the peritoneal cavity and do not have any pathological relevance. It is generally assumed that loose peritoneal bodies consist of detached appendices epiploicae undergoing necrosis, and subsequent fibrosis and calcification (1). Histological analysis showed a cellular collagenous and crystalline material.
