Omental torsion and ischaemia secondary to herniation of the greater omentum through the deep inguinal ring. There was no intestinal content in the hernia, which was reduced before total omentectomy was performed. The patient was discharged after 3 days and booked for a laparoscopic repair of the inguinal hernia.
