Conclusion

Routine placement of a stent after angioplasty in this study that included 98 patients with a prosthetic fistula reduced the rate of restenosis at six months from 72 to 29 per cent, P<0.0001, and improved mean primary patency from 151 to 380 days, P<0.0001.
