Conclusion

A total of 2259 patients with no polyps left after colonoscopic polypectomy were included. Overall, 43 per cent of patients developed recurrent polyps over three to five years. Risk ratios were 0.99, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.89 to 1.09 for vitamin D supplements alone; 0.95, 0.89 to 1.06 for calcium; and 0.93, 0.8 to 1.08 for both.
