Conclusion

There were 20 studies including 3618 patients. Surgical treatment was associated with higher rate of complication-free successful treatment (82.3 versus 67.2 per cent, P<0.0001) and treatment efficacy after one year (93.1 versus 72.6 per cent, P<0.00001).
