Conclusion

The study included 81 patients in two treatment groups and a control group. Mean survival was 4.5 months in controls, compared with 4.6 months with a fluorouracil chemotherapy regimen, and 9.5 months for gemcitabine with oxaliplatin. In the chemotherapy group, one patient had complete remission and another was rendered operable and underwent subsequent surgical resection.
