Conclusion

This study included 9340 patients in intensive care. Daily bathing with a chlorhexidine impregnated cloth did not reduced the number of ICU patient days with infection: rate difference -0.04 days, 95 per cent confidence interval -1.10 to 1.01 days, P=0.95.
