Conclusion

The addition of clopidogrel to aspirin for 90 days after TIA or minor stroke reduced the stroke rate at 1 year from 14 to 10.6 per cent (hazard ratio 0.78, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.65 to 0.93, P=0.006) in this multicentre study that included 5170 patients.
