Comparative clinical effectiveness and cost effectiveness of endovascular strategy v open repair for ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm. BMJ 2017; 359: j4859.
Published: 25th January 2018
Authors: Improve Trial Investigators
Conclusion
Of 502 patients with ruptured AAA, repaired and followed for three years, mortality was lower in those randomized to an endovascular strategy: odds ratio 0.62, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.43 to 0.88. The probability that the endovascular strategy was cost effective was over 90%.
