Comparison of laparoscopic 2700 posterior partial fundoplication vs total fundoplication for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease. A randomized clinical trial. JAMA Surg 2019; 154: 479-486

Conclusion

This study included 456 procedures. After three years, oesophageal acid exposure was reduced equally by the two procedures, and quality of life was similarly improved. There was a small but significant difference in dysphagia after 24 months (P=0.001), favouring partial fundoplication.
