Conclusion

Insertion of self-gripping mesh was quicker (around 8 min) in this analysis that included 10 randomized trials and 2541 patients. There was no difference in the rate of chronic pain after 24 months: odds ratio 0.93, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.74 to 1.18.
