Effect of an immersive preoperative virtual reality experience on patient reported outcomes: a randomized controlled trial. Ann Surg 2017; 265: 1068-1073.

Conclusion

Some 127 patients were included. The virtual reality experience reduced perioperative anxiety and improved overall satisfaction with the surgical experience.
