Conclusion

Some 907 patients had two endoscopies on the same day, one with standard white light illumination, and a second using an artificial intelligence programme (AI) designed to detect abnormal mucosal lesions. The gastric neoplasm miss rate was 6.1 per cent with AI assistance versus 27.3 per cent with standard endoscopy, P=0.015.
