Conclusion

Fish oil did not affect the composite primary endpoint of ‘graft thrombosis or radiological or surgical intervention over twelve months’ in this study that included 196 patients: relative risk 0.78, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.6 to 1.03, P=0.06. It did reduce the rate of dialysis graft failure: 0.58, 0.44 to 0.75, P<0.001.
