Conclusion

The endpoint in this study with 20 patients for analysis was the post procedure inflammatory response, which was reduced in patients who had the endoscopic procedure (P=0.004). Death and major complication rates were also reduced, as was the number of pancreatic fistulas: 10 versus 70 per cent, P=0.02.
