Endovascular aneurysm repair with inferior mesenteric artery embolization for preventing type II endoleak. A prospective randomized controlled trial. Ann Surg 2020; 271: 238-244
Published: 29th April 2020
Authors: Samura M, Morikage N, Otsuka R, Mizoguchi T, Takeuchi Y, Nagase T et al.
There were no complications from IMA embolisation in the 113 patients included. The risk of type II endoleak was significantly reduced in the embolisation group (24.5 versus 49.1 per cent, P=0.009), as was the risk of sac growth related to endoleak (3.8 versus 17 per cent, P=0.03).Pubmed Link
