Conclusion

After five years, 595 (75 per cent of the original cohort) completed quality of life (QoL) questionnaires. Although generic QoL was unchanged, disease-specific QoL was better after laser ablation or surgery than after foam sclerotherapy. Cost effectiveness modelling favoured laser ablation.
