Conclusion

Individual patient data were available for 26 trials comprising just under forty thousand women. Dose intense chemotherapy reduced 10-year recurrence rate (28 vs 31 per cent, P<0.0001) and all-cause mortality (22.1 versus 24.8 per cent, P<0.0001).
