Conclusion

After successful angioplasty of the worst lesion, 78 patients (80 limbs) were randomly allocated to no further procedure, or angioplasty of further lesions. Ischaemic lesions healed more quickly after multiple vessel angioplasty, but amputation rates were similar at 30 days (one in each group), but with a trend to improvement for multiple angioplasties after three years (91 versus 67 per cent, P=0.052).
