Conclusion

Hospital stay was similar in this study that included 60 patients (4-5 days). Some 9/30 patients in the conservative groups required appendicectomy. Rates of open surgery were similar (3 in laparoscopic group, 4 in conservative group). There were fewer unplanned readmissions after laparoscopic surgery (1 versus 8, P=0.026).
