Conclusion

Some 119 patients with irresectable liver metastasis were offered chemotherapy with, or without radio frequency ablation. After a median of 9.7 years, patients who had radiofrequency had improved overall survival: hazard ratio 0.58, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.38 to 0.88, P=0.01.
