Conclusion

Seventy-nine patients undergoing resection for Crohn’s disease were enrolled. Patients who had a hand-sewn anastomosis had lower risk of recurrent Crohn’s at endoscopy for at least 24 months: 18 versus 30.2 per cent, P=0.04.
