Conclusion

Some 33 RCTs were eligible for inclusion. Compared with standard balloon angioplasty, primary patency was significantly improved with drug-eluting stents (odds ratio 10.05, 95 per cent confidence interval 3.22 to 31.39), bypass surgery (7.15, 2.27 to 22.5), covered stent (3.56, 1.33 to 9.53) and nitinol stent (2.83, 1.42 to 5.51).
