Conclusion

Some 224 patients were included in the study. Chemotherapy improved five year disease-free survival from 19 to 34 per cent: hazard ratio 0.65, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.48 to 0.89, P=0.003; and overall survival from 24 to 38 per cent (0.69, 0.5 to 0.95, P=0.02).
