Conclusion

Fifty patients having a laparotomy were included. Negative pressure dressing reduced the rate of surgical site infection after 30 days from 32 to 8.3 per cent, P=0.043, and duration of hospital stay: 6.1 versus 14.7 days, P=0.019.
