Conclusion

In this study that included 159 patients, more patients had wound healing after 30 days following primary closure (92.4 per cent) than purse-string suture (62.5 per cent); 95 per cent confidence intervals of the difference: 42.9 to 16.9 per cent. Surgical site infection rates were similar.
