Conclusion

A total of 136 patients were followed for three years. The trial was stopped early because ablation reduced the rate of progression to high grade dysplasia from 26.5 to 1.5 per cent (P<0.001) and the risk of progression to adenocarcinoma from 8.8 to 1.5 per cent (P=0.03).
