Conclusion

In this study that included 189 patients with tumours less than 7cm in diameter followed for up to 62 months, the combined treatment had improved overall survival (hazard ratio 0.52, 95 per cent confidence interval0.33 to 0.82, P=0.002) and recurrence-free survival (0.575, 0.37 to 0.09, P=0.009).
