Conclusion

Some 204 patients were included; 27 were excluded because of the histological diagnosis of cancer. Overall recurrence rates were similar: 15 per cent after endoscopic resection versus 11 per cent after transanal miscrosurgery. Complication rates were similar. Endoscopic resection was cheaper.
