Conclusion

Some 136 patients were included, and the EVAR device access site randomized, with the other groin having the alternate closure method. There was no difference in primary outcome (surgical site infection: 1.5 per cent after open versus none in the percutaneous access group). Subsequent pain and wound healing were better in the latter group.
