Conclusion

The addition of dry powder fibrin sealant to standard gelatin sponge reduced median time to haemostasis from 4 to 2 min in the study of 175 patients (P<0.02). Reductions were even seen in patients taking warfarin, aspirin or both. Adverse events were comparable.
