Conclusion

Forty-six severely injured patients with systolic blood pressure <90mmHg on admission were included. Up to 24h, resuscitation with Plasma-lyte improved base excess (mean difference 3.1 (95 per cent confidence interval 0.5 to 5.6), and reduced serum chloride.
