Conclusion

The study evaluated the effect of applying fibrin glue and then wrapping polyglycolic acid mesh round the pancreatic remnant after resection in 97 patients. The mesh significantly reduced the rate of clinically relevant postoperative fistula from 28.3 to 11.4 per cent, P=0.04.
