Conclusion
Some 207 patients were followed for a median 58.2 months. The minimally invasive method had similar outcomes to open surgery: disease-free survival - hazard ratio 0.81, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.55 to 1.17; and overall survival - 0.71, 0.48 to 1.06.
