Conclusion
In addition to supervised exercise, 78 patients were randomly allocated to vacuum therapy for 30min twice weekly for six weeks, or sham treatment. Improvements in quality of life, treadmill walking distance and ambulatory ability were similar in both groups, with vacuum therapy having no additional benefit.
