Conclusion

Some 1046 women were included and followed for 20 years. Radiotherapy reduced the rate of subsequent DCIS (absolute risk reduction 10 per cent; 95 per cent confidence interval 6 to 14 per cent), and invasive cancer (2 per cent, -3 to 7 per cent).
