Conclusion

A total of 7576 women were enrolled in the study and followed for a median of 4.1 years. Four-year event-free survival rates were 91 per cent for exemestane and 91.2 per cent for anastrozole (hazard ratio 1.02, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.87 to 1.18). There were no observed differences between the drugs.
