Conclusion

A total of 1925 women were included in this study and followed for a median 63.3 months. The addition of paclitaxel caused a small but significant improvement in disease-free survival from 93 to 90.3 per cent (hazard ratio 0.73, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.54 to 0.99 per cent, P=0.04), but no effect on overall survival.
