Conclusion

In this study that included 331 procedures, after two years the risk of chronic groin pain (4.6 per cent) was similar between the two methods. Hernia recurrence was reported after 2.4 per cent self-grip versus 1.8 per cent of sutured mesh repairs; P= 0.213.
