Conclusion

The study included 101 aortic aneurysm procedures. There were no perioperative deaths. The fast track group had reduced postoperative stay (10 vs. 11 days, P<0.016). In addition, bowel function returned more quickly (P<0001) and there were fewer overall complications: 16 vs. 36 per cent, P=0.039.
