Conclusion

There were four RCTs of 368 procedures (530 access sites). Percutaneous access reduced procedure duration (by a median 11.53 min, 95 per cent confidence interval 15.71 to 7.34 min) and the rate of seroma/lymphatic leak (odds ratio 0.18, 0.04 to 0.83), but not length of hospital stay.
