Conclusion

A total of 316 patients with an aneurysm >5cm were included and followed for five years. In hospital mortality rates were similar (1.3 per cent EVAR versus 0.6 per cent open surgery, P=0.1). Cumulative event-free survival rates were also similar to three years (82.4 versus 85.1 per cent). Reintervention rates were higher after EVAR (16 versus 2.4 per cent, P<0.0001).
