Conclusion

Adaptive randomization was used to compare veliparib-carboplatin with standard therapy. The new combination was highly likely to result in higher rates of pathological complete response than standard chemotherapy in this study that included 116 women: complete pathological response 51 per cent compared to 26 per cent in controls.
