Conclusion

Some 2980 postmenopausal women were included and followed for a median of 7.2 years. There was no significant difference in the rate of breast cancer recurrence with anastrozole: hazard ratio 0.89, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.64 to 1.23. Adverse event rates were similar.
