Conclusion

Perioperative stroke and death rates were similar (1.9 vs. 3.9 per cent, P=0.21), but the rate of residual stenosis after three months was significantly reduced by patch angioplasty (1.1 vs. 8.9 per cent, P=0.001) in this study that included 404 procedures.
