Conclusion

Some 286 patients with a small AAA were randomly allocated doxycycline or placebo for 18 months. Doxycycline was associated with increased aneurysm growth (4.1 versus 3.3mm in placebo group; P=0.016).  Aneurysm repair was indicated in 21 doxycycline and 22 placebo- treated patients.
